[REVIEW] AUDIOMAX EM-7A Headphones Earphones, Noise Isolating, Bass Driven, HD In Ear, Tangle free, Replaceable Earbuds (Black with Mic and Vol. Control)

I have received the Audiomax EM-7A headphones about 2 weeks ago, so I’ve had plenty of time to use and abuse them :).

When they arrived I was pleasantly surprised about the presentation, the headphones being nicely packaged in the usual Avantek/Audiomax box made out of recycled materials.

IMG_20150902_114519

Opening the main box I found a very nice travel/carry box that houses the headphones, the instruction manual, a couple of extra ear buds (small and large) and a clip to use with the headphones.

IMG_20150902_114612

The headphones are very easy to use, just plug them in your chosen audio device and you are good to go. I first tried them with my Xiaomi Redmi 2 and have to admit, these are the best sounding ÂŁ10.00 I have ever tried. The Redmi 2 does have a pretty good audio chip, but the sound from these headphones is astounding. I have tried them with my work phone, a Samsung S6 edge and the results were just as good, if not better. I even got to use the built in microphone for a couple of calls, and the sound during was clear and crisp with no distortion.

The treble is crisp, the middles quite balanced and the bass is punchy 🙂 🙂 🙂

These are not the most expensive headphones I ever bought, they might actually be one of the cheapest, but the design and the quality of the build and of the sound makes them a recommended buy.

They look like a cross between the Beats audio headphones and the Soundmagic ones.

Oh, and they are made of some sort of aluminium grade material, which means that they will last.

[Review]The Avantek BC-L6 Bluetooth Receiver – ÂŁ19.99 @AmazonUK

I was sent this to review by Avantek and give my honest opinion.

20150806_124150

I found the Avantek BC-L6 Bluetooth Receiver much smaller than expected, and that is a good thing. It as big as half a golf ball, made out of a good quality black plastic. It should easily fit in almost all cars (that have AUX IN of course). I have tried it with Google’s Voice search and it works great. It should work with Siri without any issues.

20150806_124207

One little drawback with the product is that it comes without an internal battery. This means you have to keep it plugged into the car for it to work. A bonus is that the charger that comes in the box is a two-port USB one, so it means you can use the extra charging port for another device.

20150806_124243

In terms of design, the Avantek BC-L6 Bluetooth is very simple, circular and black, equipped with a permanently attached wire for audio and power connections. The external wire is about 3 feet long and splits for power and audio segregation.

20150806_124408

The Avantek Bluetooth receiver is mountable with the support of a magnetic back. Mounting and detaching is very easy and simple.

20150806_124330

If the top part of the device is twisted, it helps to turn the volume up or down or you can skip tracks. By pushing the centre button down and holding it, it activates the Google Voice search on your phone (or Siri). It can also be used to stream music via Bluetooth from a compatible device. I have tried it with 2 Android powered phones (OnePlus One and a Xiaomi Redmi 2) and it works great.

The sound quality when on the phone or when listening to music is really great, with no stutter or interruptions. The Avantek BC-L6 is priced at just £19.99 which means that as a whole, this gadget is worth buying.

Conclusion :The AVANTEK Portable Bluetooth Receiver comes with more features than many similar products and a clever means of remotely controlling playback from your phone, but it will involve running wires to a power outlet and an auxiliary input in a car.

Lenovo has always been good when it comes to cameras on their devices, however how does thier budget K3 Note fair against Ulefone’s flagship Be touch 2?

image

Well you will do the judging.
K3 Note = uhmmm@ F2.0 with dual led
Betouch 2 = IMX214@ F1.8 with led
Both devices are fitted with 13mp rear sensors. However on paper, the Ulefone seems quite impressive. Let’s see how that translates in real life. Enjoy.

Meizu MX5 Unboxing

meizumx54

Meizu is hardly a known name, particularly in the western markets, but the company is still well known among certain circles for its aggressive pricing and Apple-esque looks. In particular, the company is best known for its MX and M Note product lines. The M2 Note was announced at the beginning of the month for just $130, and now Meizu has also formally taken the wraps off the Meizu MX5.

The new flagship packs a pretty solid punch thanks to its Helio X10 Turbo 8-core processor, PowerVR G6200 GPU, and 3GB RAM. Other specs include 16, 32, or 64GB storage, a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 20MP camera with a Sony IMX220 sensor and dual-tone LED flash with laser autofocus, a 5MP front cam, a 3150 mAh battery with fast charging tech, and Meizu’s Flyme 4.5 which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Turning to the aesthetics, the MX5 might not look substantially different from its predecessors but it does offer a more premium build thanks to a switch to a full metal jacket. This differs from the MX4, which had a metal mid-section and a plastic rear. Another change is in the physical key up front, which has been altered slightly to take on a more Samsung-style look. The MX5 is also just 7.6mm thin and weighs 149 grams.

Although many people aren’t so fond of MediaTek chips, most of the specs are quite good. Design is also solid, even if a little to iPhone-like for most of our tastes. What really makes the MX5 shine, however, is the price tag. The base 16GB model will be offered at 1800 yuan or about $290, with the 32GB model at roughly $322 and the 64GB at $387.

With support for many of the same high-end features you’d get from more expensive flagships — like cat 4 LTE, 4K recording, full metal builds, etc — we have to give Meizu credit here.

[ROM] Hydrogen OS Released + Download Link

Hydrogen OS is an alternative ROM for OnePlus One users that quite unlike its Oxygen counterpart — it’s a redesign of many of stock Android foundations, especially in regards to organization and aesthetics. Hydrogen OS features eye-catchy animations and a design that is reminiscent to both Material Design and Aqua with similar behavior to the former but enough differences to make it unique.

1222 32

While Hydrogen OS is still in beta with a release scheduled for July, you can try out the ROM on your OnePlus One and enjoy it without registering for the beta. XDA Senior Member natheux has now shared with us a download link to the latest release, and this version brings new animations and general improvements to the aesthetics and performance of the phone, as well as better wake-up gestures. However, keep in mind that early reports in both the XDA thread and the OnePlus forums seem to paint this release as a hit or miss — some claim great battery life and performance, while others claim that there are problems with the touchscreen, gestures, crashes, freezes and even an alleged bricking.

If you do proceed, make sure to read both threads [1][2] carefully so that you minimize associated risks. Those of you who want to jump in might find quite a surprise, and the early reviews and screenshots look really good. You can find a video review of the v4 release below, where you can learn about its performance and features.
